Those poor, poor SUV drivers . . .

It wasn't that long ago that animal rights wackos used to spray paint fur coats.

To all that miss those times, I offer you this. Poor guy . . .

This was one of those stories that my initial reaction was probably schadenfreude, but then I realized that it would totally suck to have a new car vandalized, even if it does get 15 miles to the gallon. Who are we to judge? I mean, if this dude wants to waste gas, ruin the environment, and presumptively compensate for having a small penis, he's paying $3 a gallon for that right.

Yes, but therein lies the rub. It's guys like that that also make ME pay $3 a gallon for gasoline, not to mention that we now have to breathe in who knows what and that guys like that will ultimately destroy the planet. That should certainly cost more than $3.

A few thoughts...

1) I agree with Jason. Guys like this are costing us a clean environment, and fuel efficiency standards should be legislated. But....

2) I don't condone vandalism. Then again....

3) Boo hoo. This guy comes of as whiny in the article and he is starting a marketing company, which makes me think he used his publicity skills to get this in the post. Sucks to be him, sure, but vandalism happens all the time. Tom's had his car stereo stolen like 12 times, but I've never read about it in the Post. This story doesn't merit a Post article either.

Jason: Yeah, but you don't buy $3/gallon gas quite as often as stupid Hummer guy. On some level, buying a less-fuel efficient car operates as a de facto tax on stupidity. The emissions are worrisome too, but that's the fault of not having high enough standards.

Justin: Not only is the guy very whiny, but he lives with his mom.

Tom should see if he's set the record for having his car broken into, and then he should contact the Post to get a feature written. He needs better marketing. Maybe he should hire Hummer guy.
