PSA

We here at the Chicago Cubs would like you to know that we are constantly striving to raise the bar on our own futility. For example, why waste time giving up a walk-off walk when we could have a walk-off hit-the-guy?

Think there's nowhere to go from here? Just wait. Perhaps you'll be a lucky fan at the game where we give up a walk-off balk or walk-off swinging-strike-three wild pitch. Buy your tickets now!

Last year the Orioles lost a game to the Marlins when Todd Williams tried to intentionally walk Miguel Cabrera, but didn't throw the pitch wide enough. Cabrera hit the intentional ball for a game winning single.

Right now, the Cubs only have one more win than the Nationals.

Even stranger, the Nationals have at least as many wins as the Yankees, the Cardinals, the Astros, the Reds, the Devil Rays, the Royals, and the Rangers.

Mostly, though, I have more wins than anyone else in Jeff's fantasy league.

Dara, you have more wins than the Nationals.

Forget lawyering. I should totally be the Nats next G.M.

I nominate Dara for Nat's G.M.

Since Dara posted, the Yankees and Devil Rays now have more wins than the Nats.

I would lament the Cardinals' demise, but they're only 6.5 out behind the Brewers, who are trying to make the NL Central a race again, and it only took the Cards 83 wins to win the division last year.

The Cubs are only 6 back... maybe they'll finally win the World Series, but only after winning the division with a losing record?

As of today, the Yankees, Devil Rays, Cardinals, Astros, and Nationals all have 22 wins, which is more than the Reds and Royals.

At the beginning of the season, who would have predicted that that the Nationals would have had as many wins as any of those teams? Well, except for the Devil Rays and the Royals. We all knew they'd suck.
