It's not just the Nats, all DC pro sports teams suck

This article shows that it's not just the Nats that suck lately in DC... Are this year's collection of DC pro sports teams the worst collection for a city ever?

It's a question worth looking into, but I'd imagine with some research we'd find plenty of worse collections for a city at various times. There might even be some right now.

The main reason I say this with any confidence is the Wizards. They were a playoff contender until Arenas got hurt, and even without him, they're in the playoffs.

Granted they'll probably suck in the playoffs, but I'm sure there are plenty of cities that have had for professional teams, none of which made the playoffs.

Also, I assume your question applies only to pro teams? Otherwise, you'd have to ignore the fact that Georgetown just made the final four.

Here's one for you....

The 2004 As, the 2004 Giants, the 2004 49ers, 2004 Raiders, 2004-2005 Warriors and 2004-2005 Sharks ALL missed the playoffs.

That's 6 teams in the Bay area that all missed the playoffs the same year. That might be hard to beat.

The Wizards have been a completely different team ever since Arenas and Butler got hurt and are losing tons of games (6 in a row now?). Right now I don't know if they could beat the Nats... kidding. :-)

Also it's not just missing the playoffs. The Nats could challenge for one of the worst records of all time. The Wizards are awful ever since they lost half their good players to injury. The Caps have been bad for years (1 lucky playoff run notwithstanding) and the Skins only lead the league in dollars per loss. But I agree Bay Area '04 might be tough to beat. And they do have to put up with Al Davis.
