PH4H World Series

Meanwhile, I nominate the Cubs and Nationals for the PH4H Fall Classic. The Nationals have lost 9 of 10 and are 9-21 since July 28. The Cubs followed their sweep by the Cardinals with a sweep by the worst team in the National League, the Pirates (though the Cubs and Nationals are seriously challenging Pittsburgh for that honor). Oh, and it gets better: a night after Cubs closer Ryan Dempster blew a lead in the 11th inning to lose it, Cubs closer Ryan Dempster blew a lead in the 11th inning to lose it.

Or the Twins, if they keep losing to Kansas City ...

Clearly the Nats just needed me to inspire them by comparing them to the Cubs. Five straight wins and counting ...

If the PH4H playoffs were being held today, the NL would be represented by Washington, Pittsburgh, Colorado, and the Cubs (as the Wild Card). The AL would have Tampa, Kansas City, Seattle, and Baltimore.

I'd bet somehow Kansas City and Pittsburgh could muster up enough sucktitude to make it all the way to the series. And honestly, at 51-88, Kansas City is the odds-on favorite to win. Or lose the most. Whichever.

Sorry, but the smart money at this point would have to be on the Cubs, brand new owners of the worst record in the National League.
