CBI pool

No NIT for your team (Jeff, Andy, Stephanie, all of you raucous Rider alumni)? Don't despair! The CBI comes to the rescue!

Everybody e-mail me your pick for the winner! (Brown all the way!) Winners receive endless admiration.

In the spirit of "NIT" standing for "Not In the Tournament," please also submit your ideas for what "CBI" stands for. "Couldn't Buy an Invitation," for example.

I could turn this into a bracket too, what with my amazing .pdf know-how.

Yes, but does it really deserve a bracket?

No, but neither does the NIT.

In all actuality, this one would be hard to make because the committee re-seeds the final four teams. So there's no guarantee that the teams emerging from the top half of the bracket will play each other rather than one of the teams from the bottom half.

So, to quote Tim Gunn, "Carry on."

And, for the record, I think you nailed "CBI." I can't think of anything more accurate.

Also, for the record, my random pick for this third-tier tournament is Richmond -- because their mascot is the Spider, and there's a They Might Be Giants song about that.

CBI, as any person who has lived in Charlottesville knows, stands for Congregation Beth Israel- the only shul in Charlottesville. So clearly, when the headline reads "UVA to play Richmond in CBI" that means they're facing off in the shul's main sanctuary....

Also, Dara, someone I know once played in a band called Bowl of Spiders.

Not really "played", more like talked about playing (and what our albums would be called). The only thing we ever really did was get drunk at parties, which would occasionally culminate in Alli playing piano and me singing.

Seriously, though, we had a rockin' cover of 'Going to California.' I should do that at karaoke some time.

Brown, why did you have to go and break my heart? I'm ruined.

Richmond lost too. Clearly, Virginia heard that it "Must stop . . . Spider(s)."
