A Royal Disgrace
The Kansas City Royals are a really bad team. As of today, they've won a mere 10 games and have lost 13 in a row, and they're already 22 games out of first place. So how do you drum up fan support? A group of Royals fans (yes, they really do exist) have an idea. They've created Royales With Cheese, a blog listing new promotions that the Royals could use to attract more fans to their games. Some of the promotions include replacing the basepaths with Crocodile Mile, a Matt Stairs and Runelvys Hernandez pie eating contest, and celebrity guest manager. The site also spotlights the Doug Mientkiewicz Fan Club, and Royals' highlights using Nintendo's RBI Baseball.

Doug Mientkiewicz has had a fan club since 1995. Ask my roommate from FSU, who was its president and founding member. I probably saved some mail with that as its return address.
Doug Mientkiewicz is on my PH4H fantasy team. You all know you're jealous.
I just left a comment on their blog. Hopefully, they'll implement the old "Yes I Am" cheer when he gets up to bat.
Add up the number of letters in Mientkiewicz and Grudzielanek and ... you still don't get anywhere close to the Royals' number of losses.
It's like I've joined the chess club and have absolutely no idea what they're playing.

The Royals fired their GM today.
Can the Nats hire the Royal GM? Can't be much worse than Jim Bowden.
